Who we are and what we stand for
We are convinced of this: God love Muslims. He sent the Son He loves to offer them
salvation and he has commanded us to give our lives to that they can learn
of His love.
As it is written:
Those who have
never been told of him shall see,
And those who
have never heard of him shall understand.

That is why our vision is that
God will move hundreds of Latin Americans who will:
- live in Muslim
Communities
- do humanitarian service
- communicate the love of
God to people who have no access to the true knowledge of God’s Son,
and
- plant indigenous churches
among them.
We are currently more than 110
workers from 15 Latin American countries serving in 6 nations of the 10/40 Window.

A Mission to Islam—We plant indigenous
churches in Muslim communities
Islam represents
the largest number of peoples in today’s world with limited access to the
gospel of Jesus Christ: a major
challenge to the church in its mission today. More than 3000 ethnolinguistic groups made up of 1.1 billion followers have never had the opportunity to
hear the gospel of Christ. As Latin
Americans, we have joined with each other in our efforts to proclaim the
gospel and plant indigenous churches among them.
A wholistic mission—We proclaim the gospel in word and deed.
Our workers
share the gospel while they serve the community using their professions for
the good of those whom they serve for the love of Jesus.
As workers whose
experience of the gospel is rooted in
We
are a field based mission offering advantages to Latinos who are called to
love and serve Muslims in the gospel:
PMI provides
orientation and assistance to each worker helping them develop their
ministry among Muslims in the following ways:
Field based
training: New field workers receive our
Field Orientation Course (COT) during the first 6 months on the field. During the COT experience, workers lay a
foundation of friendship and mutual understanding with local Muslims. The desired result is excellence in
language use and understanding the customs of the people we serve. Throughout our years on the field, we are
given opportunities for further study to further our understanding of God’s
word and to develop ministry skills.
Team Life: Fellowship with other workers from
Pastoral
Care: Besides making fellowship possible, PMI
works alongside the leaders of sending churches to make sure our pastoral
and emotional needs are addressed while we are on the field.
Placement
assistance: PMI helps create the opportunities we
need to serve in countries that traditionally are considered “closed”. Such projects range from local
humanitarian service projects to small business development to sports. In each project workers grow and develop
their professional skills and experience.
Supervision: Our supervisors
are also Latin Americans and help us develop our project and ministry and
support us in our communication with our sending church.
